Wayward Daughter (Tsukuyomi) Lyric Video | Final Fantasy XIV

The female Japanese lyrics recount the suffering of Yotsuyu goe Brutus, who had summoned Tsukuyomi into her body while the male English chorus is sung by Yotsuyu's tormentors, the second line in particular representing her parents.

The lyrics manifest the misery Yotsuyu has felt that cannot be revealed as herself or as Tsukuyomi, but only as her "Tsuyu" persona. In the end, Yotsuyu chooses to rebel, as she does after the battle, killing her brother Asahi sas Brutus.

Throughout Stormblood, petals, moon, and the night are used to symbolize Yotsuyu, and later Tsukuyomi; notably the patch which contained Castrum Fluminis is entitled "Under the Moonlight." Crimson is a synecdoche for Stormblood as a whole– symbolizing the bloodshed cast in the revolutions of Doma and Ala Mhigo.
